Beautiful Day

The weather was beautiful this past Saturday, so we went into the city to shop and people watch. This has become an annual event for us. And early October is usually filled with picture perfect weather just like we had on this particular day.

After grabbing a quick lunch, we started our shopping spree at some of the girl's favorite spots. Armed with a few bags, we headed over to Newbury St. for even more shopping. (Yes, there are reasonably-priced stores on Newbury St., just head towards Mass Ave. and you'll find them.) Once the girls had their fill, we walked the entire street and headed straight into the Public Garden before ending our day at the North End for dinner. And just like last year, we watched a wedding party having their picture taken while looking absolutely giddy with happiness. This little girl caught my eye, so I snapped this shot as she turned to rejoin the party. We left them with good wishes as we went on our way.

Apple Cider Recipes

Mother Nature had us apple picking in October this year due to rainy weather and other scheduling conflicts. It doesn't matter really, we continued on with our annual tradition and brought home lots of apples. First up... apple pie of course (my oldest daughter's most favorite treat). I had two pies in the oven the very next day. Next up... just eating as many apples as we can pull from the bag. And maybe we'll try a few of these recipes too!
