It's Still Not too Late to Enjoy Lemonade!

Before I break out the apple cider, I'm going to make one more batch of lemonade. I have an electric juicer, but you can certainly juice four lemons very easily by hand. (Make sure you roll the lemon to release the juice before cutting.) When it's time to serve, add sprigs of lavender, raspberries or blackberries....whatever you'd like. Everyone will love it.

Lemonade

4 large lemons
2/3 cup sugar
2 quarts cold water
1/2 cup water
Vanilla

In a small saucepan combine 1/2 cup water with the sugar and add some fresh lemon peel. Heat on low until the sugar is completely dissolved and you're left with a simple syrup. Remove lemon peel before adding syrup to your pitcher.

Juice four lemons and add the juice to 2 quarts of cold water in the pitcher of your choice. Combine the simple syrup with the lemon water and stir. You may add slices of fresh lemon to the pitcher as well, just be sure to remove any seeds first.

Place in the refrigerator to chill and then serve over ice with more fresh lemon or the above mentioned ingredients.

Enjoy!

P.S. If you like Honest Lemonade from Whole Foods, this is better, and there are no preservatives.
