Summer Reading

What's on your summer reading list? So far, I will be spending my summer with a 19th century botanist whose research takes her from London to Peru, to Philadelphia, Tahiti, Amsterdam, and beyond; with a photographer who moves upstate and is still getting used to life outside the city; and with a restaurateur in the Pacific Northwest who brings food and people together. I will also re-visit an island off the coast of Maine where two writers meet a third and many secrets are revealed. And finally, back to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry to wrap up my winter reading project.

I may bring along a couple of my favorite writing books, definitely my notebook of unfinished essays, and my journals. Oh, and I almost forgot...I'm waiting for The Paris Journal to arrive. A gift from the authors that I can't wait to get my hands on!

The third book is the only one that takes place on the oceana complete switch for me. I'm in need of something beachy, something funny, and something that will make me want to read it again. Any suggestions?

I just purchase The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. I heard it was a must read. Maybe not what you're looking for, but I'm told it's a great book.

I'm going to read the Divergent series because my daughter said I just HAVE to! haha. I'm looking for more ideas myself...

Thank you for the recommendations. The Fault in Our Starts in on my list. I may have to read Divergent as well, though I confess to already seeing the movie with my daughters.

The Fault in Our Stars is an excellent book. I'm on #2 in Divergent series. Still working my way through Game of a Thrones series.

I am thinking of returning to childhood favorites this summer. I'll start with The Secret Garden and will definitely include My Antonia.

Hi Glenda. Yes, The Fault in Our Stars is going to be read. I've never read the Game of Thrones, so I'll see if that would suit me.

Relyn, The Secret Garden was one of my favorites. I think re-reading books from your childhood is an excellent idea.

Thank you, both.
