One day, I was stuck in the house due to some bad weather and I couldn't complete one of the day's daily prompts, but today I am.
DAY 24 - DAILY PROMPT:
Go somewhere completely outside of your normal routine to
write today. Switch it up, try new locations, new music, new people, and new surroundings.
Compare the output of your creativity with that of your usual places. Does that
help? Does it hinder?
I'm on my way to my favorite bookstore about 30 miles from my home and Kate is coming with me. Our plan is to sit in the café while she mostly reads, and I mostly write. I'm curious to find out how the atmosphere will change my process. There will certainly be more distractions, but that's what I was going for. I'll come back and answer the questions tomorrow.

Update: I had a great time writing in a (mostly) busy café at my favorite bookstore. It was also nice to have Kate there to bounce ideas off of. I found I could block out the noise and not get too distracted. I will definitely make this part of my weekly writing routine from here on in!

Kim, it was interesting to read this, as I have never written anywhere other than my home. I am so glad that it worked out, and that you made a day of it by also enjoying the company of your daughter.

Hi, Wendy. I love to write outdoors, in cafes, just about anywhere. But if I'm doing any kind of serious writing, it's usually at home. This time I packed up the essentials and tackled an important writing task. I loved the energy--a completely opposite experience of when I'm home in my very quiet house. Try it. :)
