Meaningful Color: Orange

Orange is a tricky color. I find people either love it or hate it. I happen to love it and I use this color in both my home and in my wardrobe.

This color packs a punch. Orange allows you to express yourself with confidence. It's the great communicator. Orange is filled with creative energy. It lifts the spirits and stimulates touch, taste, and smell. Fun an flamboyant, orange is also warm and comforting. It offers emotional strength in difficult times and aids in recovery of disappointment and despair. Orange is spontaneous and allows us to embrace a positive outlook on life. It's adventurous and inspires physical confidence and independence.

When choosing shades of orange, a little goes a long way, unless you're really trying to make a statement. As seen above, painting a entry in this bold hue awakens the senses. Ground this color with deeper shades of gray or black. Embrace its warmth a pair it with reds and yellows, but throw in a bit of green or blue to make it pop. If it's too overwhelming, use it as an accent. Pillows, books, boxes, art, and small pieces of furniture will instantly brighten up your home. Shades of peach will make your skin appear more youthful.
