The Big Apple

During Christmas break, we decided to visit NYC for a few days just before the new year. It was a pre-planned-but-let's-wait-and-see trip. We've all been there before, but strangely never together. And since there wasn't any snow to play in (thanks to a wicked rain storm that washed away over a foot of snow), we decided we'd go play someplace else.

Up very early, we packed the car and headed south. It took us just over 4 hours to make it to Manhattan and then we were off and running!

Museums, Central Park, 5th Avenue, Tribeca, the West Village, Grand Central....we pretty much crammed in as much as we possibly could before our feet gave way. This was probably my 6th visit to the city and I was amazed at how much I remembered. I can now hail a cab like a local, I've learned that even in a city as great as NYC I need nature, so Central Park was/is a favorite place to be, and I most definitely know that I need to explore more of the boroughs and villages during my next visit. Oh, and we were able to try out whispering to one another from opposite corners at Grand Central Station. As you head down to the trains, you'll want to stand in opposite corners under the arch that leads to each area. Talk to the wall, just a whisper (yes, you'll look stupid) and the person across from you will be able to hear you clear as day.

So what about you, were you able to bring in 2015 with a bang? Make any new year's resolutions or set any goals?

Tomorrow I'll let you in on one of mine!

Sounds fun! I don't like resolutions, but I do often try to keep goals in thought if not follow through. The one thing I always try to do better each year is simply to be a better person.

I'm a goal-setter too, Staci. Good luck with yours and happy new year!
